Tax Manager (Senior Management Grade)

 

As a senior tax expert at Heathrow, you will work within agreed parameters to achieve maximum tax benefit to the British Airways Group, while complying with all statutory requirements. More specifically, this will require you successfully agreeing the tax compliance process with Revenue Authorities for a balance sheet tax liability of around £1bn, payroll-related taxes of over £150m, employee income tax liabilities of over £400m and ticket-related taxes charged to the income statement of around £500m. Alongside this, you will provide support to overseas Finance staff in their dealings with fiscal authorities around the world, and initiate and manage the litigation of material tax issues through the Courts in the UK and abroad as necessary.

 

In order to do this successfully, you will need to be ACA-qualified (or possess an equivalent professional accountancy qualification) and a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation. Proven tax planning and tax risk management experience with an in-house tax function or professional services organisation will be essential. In addition, you will need a knowledge of tax leglislation and its application, demonstrable business acumen, and a track record of effective stakeholder management.
