Our client is a large international business with an in-house tax team based in Leeds. This permanent, full time position, is based in Leeds but will from time to time require International travel. The purpose of this role is to assist in the management of the group’s tax charge and the minimisation of tax liabilities across the group, ensuring compliance with all legislative requirements relating to corporation tax in the UK, whilst assisting overseas tax teams in achieving tax efficiencies.
Essential attributes Technical • Either ACA or ATII (CTA) qualified, or both • Qualified to at least first degree level • Excellent technical tax skills overall, and strong ability to identify tax risk • Good knowledge of a range of UK tax issues, including relating to international tax • Good understanding of international tax issues surrounding cross-border transactions • At least some post qualification experience, including exposure to international tax gained in practice or in a large corporate environment Competency/ behavioural Displays initiative, and takes responsibility for action • Strong problem solving skills, and ability to manage highly complex issues • Ability to analyse information and make correct inferences and decisions. • Strong interpersonal/ communication skills. Must be able to influence people at all levels through the organisation. • Strong networking skills • Excellent writing skills and ability to prepare reports with recommendations, and deliver presentations. • Good commercial awareness This role carries a salary banding of from £42,000 to £58,000 so could encompass a junior manager or a more experienced senior manager. There is a generous benefits package including a car allowance. This company would consider either someone direct from a large practice of someone with in-house experience.
