This newly created position for an International Tax Manager offers applicants the unique opportunity to join a truly global business steeped in history. Reporting to the Tax Director you will have responsibility for reporting and planning for a selection of countries and their respective tax liabilities. Current list of countries include: France, Spain, Italy, Romania, Hungary, Belgium, Albania and Turkey. You will also have frequent contact with the worldwide corporate tax group, regional finance and operational personnel, internal audit, the corporate legal group and other corporate departments. Furthermore, you will interface with external parties including tax authorities and professional advisors Ideally suited to applicants who are fluent in French with solid international tax experience and a corporate tax base. In return you will rewarded for your expertise with a varied and challenging role. About the role; - Quarterly calculation of tax provision under US GAAP FAS 109 - Quarterly review of tax account balances in statutory and GAAP ledgers. - Liaise with finance personnel as needed to ensure accuracy of account balances. - Quarterly documentation of uncertain tax positions under US FIN 48. - Annual review and approval of tax notes disclosed in the local statutory accounts. - Managing the tax calendar for Southern Europe, ensuring that all Corporate Income Tax payments in the designated territories are settled on time. - Management of Tax audits including field work and follow up. - Conducting or participating in due diligence review of acquisitions - Contract reviews as arise to ensure compliance / tax efficiency / entity efficiency - Quarterly updates with region finance / operation personnel to identify & remediate tax exposures and maximise efficiencies. - Maintenance of appropriate documentation for US and foreign tax credit purposes. - Management of professional fee budgets / activities. - Travel required for this position may range from 15%-30% depending on the activities in the jurisdiction.
