The Firm
Our client is an independently-owned, successful wealth manager.  They specialise in offering investment and wealth management services to private clients, both directly and through professional intermediaries. They are a niche provider of integrated wealth management services offering investment management, pensions, and tax services.  They have offices in London and Tunbridge Wells, with over 75 staff divided between the two locations.

Our client has experienced significant organic growth in the past three years, and now has circa £1.15bn of Funds under Management and Administration (as at 31 December 2009).  They have a sophisticated client base and list among their clients - private equity partners, leading investment bankers and FTSE 100 CEOs and CFOs.  They now seek an associate director to lead their tax compliance function based in Tunbridge Wells (with part time in London)

 

The Role

To lead the tax compliance function to ensure the completion of 1,000+ tax returns (individual, trustee and partnership) on a commercially sound basis within acceptable risk tolerances and parameters.

Managing a team of three direct reports to fulfil the tax compliance function of the business.

Identifying efficiencies and implementing appropriate changes within acceptable business risks and tolerances.

Responsibility and ownership of portfolio of private clients and trustees.

Identify opportunities, add value and earn additional fees from existing and new clients.

 

Experience Required/Person Specification

Academic:

? University education
? Qualified to at least ATT level, preferably CTA.

Experience:

? At least four years PQE ? preferably dealing with private clients and trustees;
? Project management;
? Management/supervisory;

Skills:

? Microsoft office;
? Familiarity with tax software packages;
? Project Management skills;
? Management/supervisory skills.

 

Interpersonal Skills:

? Strong written and verbal communication skills.
? Patience, perseverance and tenacity.
? Willingness to work hard.
? An understanding of prevailing market trends, issues, themes and current newsworthy matters.
? A proven interest in financial services.
