Senior Manager — Indirect Tax - London

This firm has the largest Indirect Tax Group in the UK. Within the firm they are regarded as one of the leading and most successful service lines, with a reputation for being proactive, entrepreneurial, successful and fun to work with. Their indirect tax group has a strong leadership team and previous employees have sought to join them on the basis that they will alongside with these motivational individuals.

They have a vacancy in their Global Trade & Customs team for a customs senior manager. The team consists of 18 specialists focused on global trade issues including customs duties, export controls, VAT and other supply chain efficiencies.

The role involves:

•Managing a portfolio of clients for the provision of strategic customs duties planning and technical advice;
•Developing junior staff
•Overseeing the management of an engagement and ensuring the smooth delivery of results;
•Building and maintaining strong relationships with both existing and new clients.
•Preparing and delivering new business proposals;
•Identifying cross-selling and new opportunities both with colleagues in the rest of the Indirect Tax Group and other service lines;
•Marketing and business development;
•Billing and budgeting.
To be considered, you must possess:
•An in depth knowledge of customs duties issues, European legislation, UK practice and customs reporting procedures and
•Strong client facing, relationship building and business development skills, coupled with commercial awareness and the ability to work effectively in a team.
•Experience of leading client engagements, and managing and developing staff
•A working knowledge of excise duties would be an advantage but not essential as would prior experience of ERP systems and SAP in particular
