Responsibilities

As a result of continued investment into the head office function we have identified a need to recruit a senior tax and treasury professional to join the team. This is a new role that has been identified as a result of the challenges faced by a business that is expanding rapidly. Reporting into the Group CFO, key responsibilities are likely to include:

•Oversight and development of the tax and treasury capability – transfer pricing, cash management, banking relationships etc
•Management of relationships with external advisors in order to extract maximum value – E&Y tax advisors and syndicate banks and debt advisors
•Responsibility for all aspects of the Group’s Tax affairs including planning, advisory, compliance and tax reporting
•Due diligence, tax structuring and post deal integration in respect of acquisitions
•All relevant tax planning and reporting in regards to the requirements for a potential IPO
•Management of the forex position and interpreting advice from chatham financial, interest rate swaps exposures.
•Manage 13 weeks cash management process, manage cash between trading entities and non trading cost centre entities to meet payments due (within confines of bank covenant restrictions across countries.
•Group treasury reporting, including liaison with the banking partners of the business
•Assistance with re-financing initiatives in addition to leading any future acquisitions, refinancing and private placement from a tax and treasury perspective
•Ensure that best practice is adopted in respect of treasury risk management procedures and PLC compliance

Person Specification

You will likely by an ACA/CTA qualified tax professional (or equivalent) from a Big 4 background and ideally posses some in-house experience. In addition you will possess the following characteristics:

•International tax experience along with some exposure to treasury issues
•Strong technical skills with the ability to identify and implement tax structuring opportunities
•Highly analytical with strong Excel skills
•Confident, assertive and articulate approach with a high degree of commercial awareness
•Effective communicator with an ability to forge strong relationships with key stakeholders in the business
•Effective negotiator, computer literate and capable of project management
•Ability to work under pressure to demanding deadlines imposed by project timescales or tax authority requirements
•Capable of developing this role independently in a pro-active way and of working well across different teams.
