CORPORATE TAX PLANNING MANAGER IN SOUTHAMPTON AREA WITH HIGHLY RESPECTED PRACTICE DELIVERING CORPORATE TAX SOLUTIONS
Our client is a highly respected practice based in the Southampton area, and they are seeking to find an experienced Tax Planning Manager to join their tax team with a focus towards Corporate Tax. The Role: - Undertake compliance work for clients following agreed procedures; - Prepare computations of tax liabilities for clients; - Prepare letters to client advising on outstanding matters, matters of interest and tax position; - Highlight issues and problems for attention of engagement directors; - Look after associated tax administration including dealing with HM Revenue & Customs correspondence, notices and statements together with correspondence with other advisers; - Ensure work is completed to a high standard at all times, complying with quality control procedures - Be mindful of tax planning opportunities at all times - Consider proactive advice suitable to the clients circumstances - Project the value of that advice to clients in order to secure an acceptable fee to undertake the work - Undertake planning and advisory work on a timely basis, providing clear to understand advice and recommendations for implementation - Project positively the skills of the tax team within the firm - Project positively the excellence of the firm in the market place to clients and contacts - Actively encourage referrals from clients and contacts to grow the firm Seek opportunities to actively promote the firm by attendance at networking or other promotional events The Person: - CTA qualified and/or ACA/ACCA. May be qualified by experience - Constantly developing tax technical and soft skills needed to look after different client types including businesses, trusts and individuals - IT skills – expected be familiar with Microsoft Office, and to develop familiarity with the firm’s document management, practice management and specialist tax software - Working individually and within teams where appropriate - Ability to analyse tax issues, identify anomalies and investigate them and where appropriate provide proactive solutions to tax problems - Highly technically qualified, with a willingness to continue to learn new tax skills as legislation and client needs change Hays Taxation is a trading division of Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited and acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
