A superb opportunity to develop your career in the central finance team of a FTSE 250, international technology company during an exciting time of business growth. The role would suit a financial auditor looking to grow their career and broaden their commercial and tax experience. A development package will be available for candidates to progress through formal tax qualifications. Based in the Group headquarters, Oxfordshire, you will be responsible for managing the Group’s internal audit process /risk management programme and for managing the corporate tax operations to ensure compliance requirements are met and opportunities maximised.

Key activities of the role

  • Supervision and development of the internal and external internal audit programme
  • Carry out internal audits at relevant sites within the group as necessary
  • Development and oversight of the production of quarterly risk returns from business units
  • Assistance in the running of the treasury function
  • Involvement in various financial and commercial projects including M&A
  • Preparation of the tax calculation and disclosures for half and full year financial statements
  • Ensuring all returns are filed on a timely basis and in an accurate manner
  • Supervision of tax advisers in respect of the preparation of tax returns for the US Group
  • Acting as a first point of contact for all business tax queries and involving tax advisers where necessary. Undertake activities to increase awareness of tax issues around the Group

 

Your Credentials

 

You will be a graduate and qualified accountant with significant experience in audit and risk management, ideally gained in a similar industry role or from working in practice. You will have a good understanding of tax and a willingness to increase your knowledge and take formal tax qualifications.

 

Personally, you will be confident, have strong influencing skills, with demonstrable experience of using these positively with internal and external stakeholders. You must have excellent attention to detail with ability to keep an eye on the bigger picture.
