European VAT Accountant - Nottingham

As a result of significant growth, this International Information Technology services business is looking to recruit a European VAT / Tax Accountant for their Nottingham office. This is a newly created role and would act as a support to the International Tax Director and Tax Manager based at the European head office in London.

The key aspects of the role will be

•Reviewing the preparation of quarterly VAT reconciliations for the Group
•Advising on UK and international VAT issues, including liaising directly with tax authorities, external advisers and other internal functions within the business
•Liaising with the businesses for collation of information for quarterly and year end reports
•Advising on indirect tax implications / risks of corporate acquisition, property transactions and new business proposals
•Working with other areas of the business to identify VAT risks and opportunities
•Keeping up to date with legislation and practical changes which impact VAT compliance
•Ad hoc cover for the Treasury Manager

The ideal candidate will ideally have extensive of working within industry, ideally within an international firm although candidates from a practice background would still be considered if they have had exposure to international clients. You will be a self starter, strong communicator and be confident interfacing with the business and senior individuals.

European languages would be a bonus as travel to Europe is required for this role.
