We are currently looking to appoint a Tax Manager to support the Partners in providing the highest level of client service by processing information to prepare tax returns and other reports, advise on tax planning and associated tax issues. This is for personal, business and corporate taxation and tax credit issues. Additionally to deal with ad hoc matters as instructed. To control the files of nominated clients, keeping them up to date and keeping Partners up to date with relevant issues and making recommendations on actions to be taken.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities :
- To collate information provided, liaise with clients regarding accuracy and completeness of the information, complete tax returns and where necessary to calculate tax liabilities. To advise clients accordingly.
- To ensure all appropriate allowances, reliefs etc are claimed.
- To provide information to Partners, to advise clients on all aspects of clients’ taxation affairs.
- To communicate with clients, their agents and HMRC regarding all relevant matters, including disputes, on taxation matters where necessary
- To comply with Greaves West & Ayre procedures on recording and reporting on work done.
- To participate in any relevant training, provided internally or externally, to improve knowledge and ability to fulfil the role.
- To supervise and train junior staff, checking their work to ensure it meets the required standards.
- To provide support and expertise to more junior members of the department to assist them to perform their duties.
- To assist in the management of the department and the development and implementation of new systems and procedures as appropriate.
- To review changes in technology and legislation and advise colleagues and Partners where relevant.
- To carry out project work or other ad hoc duties as required by Partners.
- Any other relevant task which may from time to time arise.

- This position carries no authority to incur expenses on behalf of the Practice.
