An opportunity to join this leading player in the international wholesale energy markets as Senior Transfer Pricing Manager, with full responsibility for all aspects of transfer pricing globally across the group, reporting directly into the Head of Direct Tax. The organisation is a leader in the international wholesale energy markets. It has it's own portfolio of assets which give it the ability to source, supply, transport, store, blend and convert physical commodities around the world. It is also the largest importer of coal into Europe, a pioneer in the biomass market, a recognised leader in weather derivatives, one of the largest providers of market services to the wholesale gas and power sectors in North America with 18,000 MW of generation under management and the leading electricity trader in Europe. There are close to 1000 employees worldwide with offices in the UK, Europe, Singapore, China, the United States and Canada. Main responsibilities - To identify transfer pricing risk areas across the Group and take appropriate actions to mitigate those risks; - Undertaking transfer pricing studies for relevant business lines/activities and implementing appropriate methodologies (including price testing where appropriate); - To provide real time transfer pricing support for a range of corporate transactions, JVs, corporate reorganisations and establishment of new businesses/products in various jurisdictions; - Preparation and maintenance of all transfer pricing documentation; - Liaising with Group Tax in relation to transfer pricing issues between the business and the wider Group; - Managing transfer pricing audits by tax authorities (both UK and overseas) as and when they arise; and - Liaising with professional advisers as necessary. Experience required - Minimum of 5-6 years PQE (ideally ACA/CTA and trained through the Big 4); - Significant transfer pricing experience ideally gained within the energy or financial services industry; - Previous in-house experience desirable but not essential; - Must be a self-starter and capable of working independently as well as part of a team; - Demonstrable ability to provide practical application of technical transfer pricing concepts.
