European Tax Lead

European Tax Lead - Belgium

This leading bank is seeking an experienced tax specialist to lead their European function in Belgium. You will have excellent exposure to a range of international and local tax issues, as well as being a point of contact for various internal and external stakeholders.


The Role

- Lead European tax planning strategies and compliance as part of a global multinational tax team
- Develop, evaluate, and implement European tax planning opportunities impacting global effective tax rate management
- Coordinate review, negotiation, and receipt of rulings and tax clearances as necessary to implement planning opportunities
- Coordinate corporate level tax compliance preparation of European subsidiaries and branches
- Provide tax technical assistance to European finance controllers with respect to tax accounting issues
- Manage relationships with external advisers across multiple jurisdictions as required in tax planning matters
- Consider, implement, and document transfer pricing considerations


Qualifications/Experience required

- Tax qualified or legal degree equivalent
- Excellent knowledge of Belgium tax, with experience in international tax planning and cross-border issues
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluency in French and English preferable
