This firm is looking for a manager to come on board and run the London office’s compliance function. To do this you will be responsible for managing 4 team members and overseeing 400 returns. Whilst you will only review the simpler returns, you will be responsible for handling the affairs of the 40 – 50 most complex client. These clients are often; UK resident non-domiciles, internationally mobile, involved in EIS schemes, IHT issues, may have sold a company or two that year alongside having large amounts of CGT from their investments.
If you want to focus all of your time on the compliance work, that’s fine. But if you do want to take on advisory projects then the director is more than happy for you to do so.
As a people manager your responsibilities don’t stop at the numbers. You will be fully involved in all appraisals, study support and be on hand to support those who need it. The members of staff that you will be looking after are a mix of CTA and ATT qualified and non-qualified individuals.
But, don’t worry, you won’t be alone! There is another manager in a regional office that you will be working very closely with. You will act as sounding boards for one another to ensure that the two offices run in tandem and have the same processes.
The Director has a background working in top tier firms and has brought a wealth of experience to the team. He will act as your technical support, if you get stuck he is always on hand to help.
