What is holding you back? Perhaps I can bridge that fear of the unknown with some information on the opportunity.
You will be part of one of the most successful expatriate tax teams in the UK within one of the largest and most successful accountancy firms in the world.
What the role consists of … and the tools you need to get the job done
As a team, they provide end-to-end tax support for assignees in their movement into or outside of the UK. This can include individual and PAYE tax compliance, tax briefings, calculations, advising clients on how to structure employments, the taxation of reward plans and providing support in a multitude of other areas.
It’s worth bearing in mind, that all of these activities would be centred around one of the most exciting and diverse client bases possible.
In order to flourish in this position, your communication and rapport building skills will come into play. You will be building and maintaining relationships with all your clients – essential as you will be the main port of call on their expatriate queries! You shall also be responsible for leading UK arrival and departure briefings for all those beginning on new adventures to foreign lands. The VIP’s (senior executive assignees) will also come to you when they find themselves in a muddle of expatriate tax issues which you shall happily help them out with.
You will then need to whip out your black belt in organisation and project management. You will responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of global mobility advisory projects. Running parallel to this aim, you will be making sure that all work contributing to the project is of an incredibly high standard.
You will not be limited here. You will have the opportunity to delve into business development for the firm. For some, business development seems like a daunting challenge but it does not have to be. Business development can include increasing revenue from the existing client base which could be done by delivering excellent service, observing areas within the client base that could be utilised and seizing those opportunities. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to learn from some of the most talented professionals who regularly win new work and assist them with this.
Frequently, professionals labour under the misconception that due to the size of the Big 4 firms, they will become just part of a faceless mass of people. It is important to note, however, that you will be working within a very supportive team in a larger community of equally brilliant and driven professionals within this particular firm. A firm this size works hard to make you feel like an individual rather than a number.
The team mentality is also something that it is hoped you will propagate as manager. You will be responsible for delegating work to the more junior members of the team, coaching them, reviewing their work and teaching them the skills which will enable them to progress.
This team demand excellence. There is no question about it. However, when excellence is achieved they are forthcoming with recognition of that achievement. Promotion here is only dependent on how well you perform within the role. They certainly have the growth to sustain promotion within the team!
If you have decided to seize this opportunity and experience the benefits of working with a versatile and exciting client base with autonomy over your work, then hit the apply button. If you would like to discuss the role further, you can give me a call on 0207 4644241. Can’t wait to hear from you!
