Senior Indirect Tax Analyst - Global Retailer

Tax & Treasury Recruitment Specialists (TTRS) have been engaged by an instantly recognisable global brand to recruit a Senior Indirect Tax Analyst to join their growing in-house function.

The business itself is expanding throughout the EMEA region, and VAT/ Indirect tax importance has been heightened due to an increasing number of countries introducing legislation within the scope of VAT supplies of ‘Digital Services’ or ‘Electronically Supplied Services.’ As the successful candidate you will be given the autonomy to drive and take ownership of large scale projects throughout these areas while retaining the support and guidance of senior stakeholders.

You will be advising the business on differing jurisdictions in EMEA, as well as a variety of topics, including ESS, telecommunications, training, movements of goods, due diligence relating to acquisitions, launch of new products, etc. There will also be scope for dealing with local tax authorities through “horizontal monitoring” relationships and ad-hoc enquiries.

To be considered you will have demonstrable indirect tax experience, preferably in the EU and gained in advisory rather than purely compliance. Sector experience is not crucial but ideally you will also have experience gained working with multinational business within an indirect tax function; or a legal or accountancy firm; or tax authorities with exposure to multinational taxpayers / cross-border transactions.

To be successful you will need to be enthusiastic and be a quick learner with a positive attitude. You will ideally have a bachelor's degree or alternative relevant business qualifications (eg Chartered Tax Adviser, ACCA, CIMA, etc.) or relevant experience / qualification with Tax Authorities.
