Tax Manager opportunity in Burnley - 70% compliance 30% advisory - part time or full time hours available.

Your new firm
A well established independent firm of Chartered Accountants based in Burnley, East Lancashire are looking to recruit a Tax Manager to join the firm on a permanent basis. This role is to support the partners with the management of the personal tax portfolio along with providing ad hoc mixed tax advice to OMBs and business owners. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain an autonomous role offering both hybrid working and either part time or full time working hours.

Your new role
As a Tax Manager you will oversee a personal tax portfolio of circa 400 clients which will predominantly consist of business owners, directors, HNWI and trusts. You will be responsible for managing the workflow, meeting deadlines and delegating and reviewing the work of a tax assistant. You will also support the directors with tax projects and ad hoc advisory work both across personal and corporate tax matters. Projects will include IHT planning, restructures and trust work and your workload will roughly be split 30% advisory and 70% compliance. If of interest, there is the opportunity to operate in a client facing role. The firm will consider part time hours from 3 days or more or full time hours.


What you'll need to succeed
The firm are seeking an experienced tax senior who is competent in delivering a personal tax compliance portfolio. The firm are happy to consider tax professionals who are already versed in providing advisory work or also those who are looking to develop these skills. Ideally you will be comfortable liaising with clients via email and phone and be able to demonstrate a proven track record of managing your own deadlines. The firm will consider QBE personal tax seniors / managers or qualified individuals who have attained their ATT / CTA qualification.
