Tax Accountant - Fintech

An exciting opportunity to join a leading Fintech business as a Tax Accountant.

Reporting to the International Tax Director the primary role of the Tax Accountant is to ensure compliance for the International entities across corporate tax, VAT and transfer pricing and for accurate reporting of tax for the international entities.

Job Responsibilities include:

• Preparation of quarterly current and deferred tax provisions under US GAAP for UK and non-UK entities
• Prepare tax disclosures for IFRS statutory accounts
• Assist with ensuring appropriate internal controls are in place over accounting and reporting for income taxes
• Prepare true-up of tax provisions to final returns filed
• Liaise with external auditors on annual IFRS audit process
• Review tax returns for corporations and branches (UK and non-UK)
• Monthly tax account reconciliations
• Work closely with Finance team to collect information necessary to prepare tax provisions and returns
• Work with tax advisors on corporate tax filings and other corporate tax matters
• Prepare Transfer Pricing calculations
• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of transfer pricing documentation, including working with external advisors
• Assist with the preparation of the UK VAT return and other non-UK indirect tax returns
• Assist in ad-hoc tax queries as they arise from the business

Required Qualifications:

• Qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent)
• 3-5 years working in UK tax accounting and compliance in either Big4/mid-tier accountancy firm or in-house
• Knowledge of tax accounting under IFRS
• Knowledge of UK corporation taxation
• Experience with transfer pricing useful but not essential
• Ability to communicate effectively and to explain tax issues to non-tax personnel
• MS Office skills. Strong excel skills are a must
