Tax Manager

Working in this small but rapidly growing accountancy firm, you will be responsible for managing the tax team of 3 and for growing the existing tax work streams across the practice.  The client base is diverse and ranges from HNWI to Directors of SME’s operating in Construction, Financial Services, E-commerce and the Sports & Entertainment sectors.  Client turnover typically ranges from £200k to £15m.

This is a mixed tax role which is slightly weighted towards private client work.  You must therefore have a broad awareness of all taxes and how they interact specifically VAT, CGT, Income Tax and Corporate Tax.  You should also have experience of dealing with HMRC aspect and schedule 36 enquiries.  Your main responsibilities will be as follows:

• Managing a portfolio of 400 clients personal tax returns.
• Working closely with new and existing clients on tax planning and advisory projects.
• Identifying and developing new revenue opportunities.
• Providing written and verbal tax advice.
• Managing all tax compliance across the firm and supervising a small team of junior colleagues.
• Dealing with HMRC Enquiries and Disclosures e.g. LPC, WDF, etc
• Completing technical research and working with the Tax Support Teams i.e. Croner, PFP
• Writing Articles for the website
• Attending client meetings as appropriate across all locations

You should be an FCA/CTA qualified mixed tax specialist with a minimum of 5 years' post qualification experience.  You must also have experience of dealing with OMBs / SME's and the taxation issues affecting them.
