The role                           

You will join our client’s team of experts within their Compliance Technology & Services team specialising in Indirect Tax compliance and will lead a portfolio of clients. You will be responsible for building relationships with both client contacts and the firm’s wider network in order to strengthen sustainable relationships.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work on ad-hoc global Indirect Tax compliance projects, wider Indirect Tax process projects and assisting clients on issues such as overseas registrations, e-filing, potential impact of new overseas Indirect Tax legislation and tax authority audit support, etc. 

This role will provide you with an unparalleled opportunity to broaden your global Indirect Tax technical skills and compliance awareness as well as the opportunity to work on complex and challenging assignments.


Key responsibilities         

On a day to day basis responsibilities will include:

  • Leading an operational team on your portfolio of clients, ensuring quality and timely delivery is met in an efficient way, contributing to the profitable growth of your clients
  • Seeking opportunities by interrogating client’s data/exceptions report and leveraging our network expertise to assist our clients using the firm’s market leading Compliance and analytics technology.
  • Ensuring internal risk protocols have been adhered to on all engagements and scope of work is being delivered
  • Expanding your portfolio of clients and working with SMEs in the Business Development and Implementation teams to ensure a smooth transition of new clients 
  • Keeping up to date with legislation and practical changes which impact VAT compliance and proactively working with clients to manage the change
  • Financial management oversight on your portfolio client
  • Developing and maintaining the client relationship for a portfolio of clients
  • Understanding client processes and identifying opportunities to help clients to drive continuous process improvements
  • Development of staff, including delegation and coaching
  • Contributing to the overall growth and success of the firm’s Compliance Services business

The successful candidate will possess initiative, enthusiasm and will have the ability to work with and contribute to the team, possessing the personal skills needed to form strong, professional relationships. 

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Indirect Tax technical knowledge
  • EMEA Indirect Tax knowledge and experience essential
  • Accounting knowledge
  • Previous experience in a Indirect Tax related role
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Excellent self-organisational skills
  • Ambition and a strong desire to succeed
  • Commitment to team working
  • Driven to improve processes
  • Highly developed client service ethos and can adopt a flexible approach to meeting client needs
  • Establish, build and maintain a good working relationship with key decision makers, including partners and senior client personnel
