International Tax Manager - In-house

This international law firm has a strong presence in Europe, Asia and North America and the firm’s own tax issues are serviced by a large and sophisticated team, primarily based in London. As part of the team’s continued development it is looking for an international tax manager to join and take on a varied role, dealing with complex tax issues.

Specifically, the person will:

• Work closely with the senior management on the management and implementation of strategic projects such as openings in new territories, transfer pricing issues, mergers, partner remuneration/distribution matters. Support for ongoing international tax matters including enquiries, changes in foreign exchange, local changes in tax law and legislation. Project managing the compliance process amongst the different entities, working closely with the local finance teams and external advisers Taking responsibility and managing tax risk and ensuring good tax hygiene. Managing more junior members of the team, mentoring and developing their skillsets. Work closely with senior management to develop and deliver internal training for the tax team. Handling ad-hoc VAT issues around the business.

The right person is likely to be either CTA or a qualified accountant, have experience of working either in-house at a partnership or in practice in a partnership tax team. The individual must be able to take the initiative and work with a variety of stakeholders outside of tax.
