Senior Tax Adviser

LKA Chartered Accountants is a small but rapidly expanding practice with an excellent reputation for client care and commercial insight, based in Thames Ditton, Surrey. Purpose of the role:

Are you an experienced Chartered Tax Adviser who really enjoys giving advice in the tax areas you feel confident in?

There is a wealth of opportunity at LKA to provide advice work and we would like to find someone confident in their own areas of specialism who would like to develop their own advisory portfolio.

Although your role will include a modest Private Client compliance portfolio you will mainly be responsible for ad hoc advice in your favourite areas. This could be in areas of IHT, Non-Resident/Non-Domicile issues, Tax Efficient Remuneration Planning and/or Structuring, Corporation Tax, Research & Development, EIS, Trust and/or Capital Gains Tax OR any areas you would like to build on.

Along with this role is also the opportunity to identify areas which you would like to expand into, and appropriate support will be given in this regard.

This role reports to the Head of Tax in a friendly and ambitious tax team.

This position is based in Thames Ditton and flexible as to hours - anything from 20 hours a week to full time working can be discussed.

Principal duties:

The Senior Tax Adviser role will include the following:

• Initial client meetings (usually via zoom) to discuss needs
• Full process of delivering tailored advice to clients
• Research into tax issues and solutions
• Responsible for managing a small portfolio of tax returns – from client requests to submissions
• Responsible for reviewing junior team members’ work
• Seek out and promote new tax advisory opportunities for existing and new client

Role Requirements:

• Minimum CTA qualified with at least 2 years’ experience
• Personable but professional attitude to client communication
• Highly organised individual with excellent time management skills
• Ability to work to deadlines and monitor performance targets
• Evidence of prior experience of tax advisory work previously undertaken may be requested
