This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small but growing established accountancy practice. This role is key to supporting the current accounting needs as well ensuring the client requirements are met within deadlines with efficiency and accuracy. The firm is open in terms of level, and the chosen applicant may be an AAT finalist with more training provided, or an experienced Semi-Senior. Your new role
Your responsibilities will be to prepare accounts & tax returns for our clients, including Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies up to review stage. You'll communicate regularly with clients via phone, email and in person, including chasing records. You will complete, review and prepare book-keeping and VAT returns where required. You'll act as liaison between clients and HM Revenue & Customs to deal with and resolve queries. This is in addition to maintaining electronic filing of books and records and management of client administration and records. You'll also be responsible for managing and maintain your professional development and learning. To provide excellent client care both on the phone and in person, delivering reports and updates. This will include answering incoming calls, greeting clients, and welcoming them into the office, offering them refreshments and showing them in and out of the building. Finally, you'll also carry out relevant CPD.


What you'll need to succeed
You must be qualified to AAT Level 3 or above or have some practice experience. Similarly, you must have experience in preparing accounts and tax returns. You'll have experience working in practice within the past 2 years and with experience carrying out the above tasks. A sound working knowledge of Sage is desirable (QuickBooks and Xero experience would be useful but not essential as training can be provided).In addition, a good standard of verbal and written English, Proficient IT skills (Excel & Word essential) and the ability to use an accountancy/taxation package essential. You'll be detail orientated with an eye for accuracy and have excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise.
