Leading Big 4 firm is looking for a VAT Assistant Manager to join their successful market leading VAT compliance team based in Birmingham. This team is providing services to many of the firm’s largest and most important clients. The team is growing and invested heavily in to support this growth, and the firm allows a clear opportunity for career progression.

The firm is looking for an individual with an interest in developing their experience in indirect tax compliance and develop a career within an established team. The role will be to assist the Senior Indirect Tax team members to deliver preparation of draft indirect tax returns using Indirect Tax Technologies. You will work on a limited portfolio of clients in order that high quality returns are produced and client relationships are developed to maximum potential. You will be liaising with clients and the firm’s wider network in order to ensure quality and timely delivery. - Dealing with client financial data and processing into Indirect Tax Technologies

- Keeping up to date with legislation and practical changes which impact VAT compliance

- Liaising with the appropriate client personnel


Successful applicants will also have the opportunity to work on ad-hoc global VAT compliance projects, wider Indirect Tax process projects and assisting clients on issues such as overseas registrations, e-filing, potential impact of new overseas Indirect Tax legislation and tax authority audit support etc.

Required skills:

  • An interest in developing excellent VAT technical skills
  • Good analytical and numeric skills including bookkeeping
