Corporate tax manager job well established practice in Poole ATT CTA
One of the area's leading accountancy practices are currently recruiting for a Corporate Tax Manager to join their team in Poole. This is a mixed compliance and advisory role, and they are looking for someone who enjoys developing and coaching a team.
Reporting to the Tax Directors, you will be be responsible for a portfolio of general corporate tax clients and may undertake some personal tax work, as required. Liaising closely with the Accounts Managers to ensure a comprehensive service to clients you will provide corporate tax advice including reorganisations/reconstructions/MBOs and other transactions as well as working with partners and managers on new assignments and new client work.
You will be responsible for supervising the inputting of information where this is done by other members of staff
and preparing complex returns whilst reviewing returns prepared by other members of the tax team. You will be corresponding and dealing with client enquires in relation to their tax issues and liabilities, ensuring any unresolved issues are referred to the appropriate Partner; including the initial handling/ identification of both tax planning and tax investigation issues, and maintaining direct contact with clients and HMRC in the delivery of excellent client service.
It is essential that you have previous experience in a tax compliance and advisory role, ideally with a good working knowledge of accounts and experience of managing a team. You will need excellent up to date technical knowledge, be commercially astute, with a keen analytical and problem-solving mind and be organised and able to plan time efficiently in order to meet deadlines. If you hold a professional tax qualification such as ATT or CTA that would be an advantage.
You will also have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport quickly with clients, being professional and discreet in demonstrating client care. You will be proficient in MS Office 365, be fully aware of and conversant with compliance standards and a knowledge of Alphatax advantageous.
