FTSE100 Direct Tax Specialist

Following a period of sustained growth over the last decade, this UK head quartered online tech business has recently completed a £10bn merger with an international rival. The combined Group now occupies a lofty position near the top of the FTSE100.

With a combined global tax team of nearly twenty people, there is need to hire two Direct Tax Specialists following two separate internal promotions. This is an exciting time to join one of the largest and most flexible companies in the world. Currently the role will be 100% working from home based until spring next year, with a few days from home thereafter.

 

Role responsibilities;

•Assist with the delivery of global tax compliance, reporting and budgetary requirements

•Building strong relationships with tax advisors and revenue authorities, including the resolution of tax authority enquiries in the UK and overseas

•Preparation of tax calculations for external reporting purposes and supporting the Direct Tax effective tax rate management strategy

•Preparation of tax disclosures for local financial statement reporting

•Preparation of Irish/UK tax returns for the Group

•Preparation of P11Ds, PSAs and other employment tax requirements as well as assistance on global mobility issues

•Proactively identifying tax risks and tax saving opportunities within the group

•Assistance with tax governance workstreams, including Senior Accounting Officer requirements in the UK

•Assistance with the preparation of advice to be shared with  stakeholders in the business and ensuring all advice is implemented correctly and in line with the Tax team strategy

•Assistance with Group employment tax matters, including annual tax filing requirements in the UK and Ireland

•Proactively promoting of awareness of tax issues across the group globally and building relationships with key stakeholders in all jurisdictions;

•Assisting with all Finance, HR, Legal and managed payroll service team queries

•Ensuring a close working relationship with HR to ensure the Group's employment tax and social security obligations are met, including the identification and implementation of employment tax policies and procedures

 

About you;

•Qualified accountant and/or Chartered Tax Advisor

•UK tax training and UK tax legislation

•Understanding of general accounting principles

•Good commercial awareness essential
