This record breaking fintech with a rapidly expanding London HQ is now valued at over £5bn. With international operations now spanning all continents, this business has developed an extremely fast and reliable product. This has attracted some of the biggest global brands to its client portfolio. The number of employees has quadrupled in 3 years through organic growth and expansion into new markets.
Now looking to build out its own in-house tax function, there is a need to add an experienced and highly skilled employment tax professional to lead the businesses employment tax strategy, policy and global compliance obligations. This is a high profile, commercial role with and a change to add real value to this expanding group.
In this advisory role you will:
· Actively contribute to the business’ international expansion plans by providing local employment tax input in respect of new jurisdictions
· Work with the tax team in developing and implementing the business’ global tax strategy
· Collaborate with other business departments (e.g. Finance, Legal and People) to build awareness of employment tax considerations across live projects
· Advise on employment tax matters associated with the group’s share option scheme, and ensure any tax reporting requirements are completed
· Collaborate with the People team in developing the Future of Work agenda, particularly advising on global mobility as well as short term business travel arrangements
· Support the People team in determining the group’s IR35 responsibilities where appropriate
· Build strong relationships with external advisers and appropriately implement any employment tax advice sought
· Proactively monitor any developments to the international employment taxes landscape, highlighting relevant changes to the business as appropriate
· Provide ongoing support to the People team on particular payroll and benefits queries
· Design and implement employment tax policies, processes and controls in accordance with the SAO legislation
· Prepare and submit PSA and P11D forms in a timely manner, with assistance from payroll manager
About you:
Proven employment tax advisory experience
Previous inhouse experience preferred
Exposure to financial services sector and advantage
Able to work in a fast faced and constantly changing business
High level of commercial awareness
