This is an established Head of Tax position, with a small team to manage delivering the Tax affairs and strategy for this global Media group.

Description

Reporting to the Group Finance Director you will be responsible for managing a small team of Tax professionals to ensure the group meets all its Tax obligations from a compliance perspective, whilst delivering strategic advice and projects for the business ensuring all opportunities and efficiencies can be achieved. You will be key member of the senior management team and be expected to play a key part in broader strategic finance initiatives. More specific responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee and embed a clear tax governance process throughout the business.
  • Lead on tax strategy and advise on all key projects and initiatives, partnering with the business to advise on new business development opportunities from a tax perspective.
  • Wide tax oversight across several territories (particularly, UK, EMEA and Asia) including corporate tax, transfer pricing, VAT, income tax and employee mobility.
  • Reporting to the management team / board in terms of tax compliance and risk management.
  • Overseeing the corporation tax compliance process in the UK by managing the team ensure that the relevant corporate tax returns are submitted on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Overseeing the corporation tax compliance process in the other jurisdictions the group operates in by managing external advisors to ensure the corporate tax returns are submitted on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Overseeing the indirect tax compliance process in the UK by managing the team reviewing the returns to ensure that they are submitted and paid on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Overseeing the indirect tax compliance process in the other jurisdictions the group operates in by managing the team and reviewing the returns to ensure that they are submitted and paid on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Manage or provide advice on indirect taxes issues as requested by the Group.
  • Work with the business and IT teams to implement appropriate processes and systems to ensure tax compliance throughout the business.
  • Responsible for external tax advisor fee negotiation and cost management.

Profile

You will be a qualified Tax professional with a good body of "in house" experience already. You do not necessarily need to be a Head of Tax already but you should be operating a senior level already and be looking to take on a step up in responsibility.
