In-House Global Mobility Tax Manager / Senior Manager, International Business, Edinburgh or Glasgow

Hays is delighted to be partnered with a modern, international Law Firm to recruit for a Global Mobility Tax Specialist at either Manager or Senior Manager level to join their experienced in-house team. You will be joining an impressive firm with over 8 thousand employees based across over 70 offices. This opportunity is primarily the result of substantial and sustained growth, as well as the increased complexities in tax legislation and new work-force developments. This role may be fulfilled on a full-time or part-time basis (4 days per week) and the organisation offers brilliant working conditions; beautiful open plan offices with flexible and remote working as well as a dynamic culture. Post-pandemic, you may be based in Edinburgh and/or Glasgow as part of a hybrid set up.
Your new role
Working within an experienced National Tax Team, you will be the primary point of contact for internationally mobile staff to advise on overseas employment taxes and permanent establishment issues. You will work closely with the Head of Tax, the Payroll Manager and HR Managers. As such, there will be significant internal and external stakeholder management and communication, obtaining and translating advice on global tax matters and overseeing necessary actions on international cases. The role will include a problem-solving element, being able to propose solutions which are tax efficient but manage the business risk, and in line with the international guidance. Leading on this role internally, you will be able to develop procedures for an end-to-end process ensuring that key system processes are mapped, documented and training documents available.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful applicant will have a proven track record within Global Mobility Tax, ether in a practice or in-house capacity. You will exhibit good knowledge of overseas tax and social security requirements, with excellent communication and problem solving skills. Strong relationship building and consultancy abilities are essential.
