With over 3000 employees worldwide, the Company generates revenue in excess of £1.14 Billion and has firm ambitions for continmuous expansion as they approach to FTSE100.

In this newly created role, you will be the first Group wide Indirect Tax expert. You will partner closely with senior stakeholders on a wide range of indirect tax issues including; managing outsourced compliance, indirect tax policy and risk management, planning initiatives and group transactions. This position is ideally suited to an experienced international indirect tax professional. In return for your expertise, you will be rewarded with autonomy, decision making responsibility, and an opportunity to build out a global indirect tax team as this group continues to grow rapidly. Furthermore, there will be significant focus around the existing indirect tax processes and how they may be improved.

  • Assist in implementing a global group indirect tax strategy
  • Provide Indirect Tax advice on group expansion initiative and M&A activities
  • Review and maintain indirect tax Policies for the Group
  • Identify and implement indirect tax planning opportunities
  • Privide Indirect Tax advice on supply chain
  • Be primary point of contact for all Group projects where Indirect Tax input is needed (e.g. finance transformation programme, operational efficiency improvements, business continuity planning, etc)
  • Ensuring an adequate control environment is maintained in line with Groups risk profile and risk appetite
  • Developing an indirect tax controls framework in order to mitigate risks
  • Assist in streamlining indirect tax compliance processes
  • Continuous review, maintenance and improvement of existing processes and identification of process and system enhancements and efficiencies
  • Ensure that appropriate tax controls, procedures and reporting functionality is in place to enable the proper flow of data to minimise tax risks
  • Primary Group point of contact with external agents and tax authorities on all VAT and indirect tax related matters
  • Working closely with other functions to provide Indirect Tax operational input, including finance, treasury, IT, HR, procurement, commercial and customer services, legal and risk teams
  • Assisting the Head of Shared Services, EU CFO and Group Head of Tax with ad-hoc support and projects as-required
  • Management of VAT audits in all jurisdictions where applicable
  • Stay abreast of ongoing changes to VAT tax legislation in relevant jurisdictions and manage team to apply in practice
  • Management of the preparation and submission of all European VAT returns, performed by accountants
  • Monitor outsourced VAT returns submissions for all territories
  • Management of the preparation and submission of all EC Sales Lists and Intrastat returns for European Group companies
  • Ownership for all monthly VAT balance sheet reconciliations.

 

About you:

  • ACA/CTA qualified or similar
  • Proven UK/International Indirect Tax experience
  • Big 4 training preferred
  • Commercial experience preferred
  • Interest/experience with tax technology or process improvements 
  • Able to discuss Indirect Tax technical matters in plain language
  • Flexible approach. Willing to do occasional short overseas trips (Europe)
