I'm delighted to be working with a leading Financial Services organisation based in Sheffield who are seeking to appoint an interim Audit Manager for a fixed period of 6 months to support with and lead on oversight of COVID-19 business interventions programme.
This position has been created in response to COVID-19 with an intention to substantially mitigate the perceived and actual risks to a level acceptable to the organisation.
Your new role
Your new role is a key role which will have responsibility for important financial support packages for businesses as they navigate the storm of COVID-19. You will manage and oversee all aspects of the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme and Bounce Back Loans Scheme, engaging with the organisation internal risk team and have oversight of the external independent auditors.
You will manage all aspects of delivery of the audit contract and establish, optimise and manage an agreed programme of assurance, alongside ensuring that all Delivery Partners comply with their contractual responsibilities when delivering the schemes.
You will agree the MI and its frequency and take the lead in the review of audit plans and reports to ensure that all work is evidence-based and best practice. It is expected that you will also coordinate day-to-day interactions between the independent auditors and Risk team.
What you'll need to succeed
This position requires that you communicate and influence at a senior level, and you will therefore have strong commercial negotiating skills and be experienced in attending Board Committees and dealing with Executive Management.
You will have a solid understanding of risk-based operational, financial and reputational audit work with a proven track record in audit management. You will have participated in the formulation of audit objectives, policies and strategies and it is essential that you have the relevant business sector experience.
You will be a full member of an appropriate professional body and have an active programme for personal professional development. It is expected that you will have strong presentation skills and excellent analytical, leadership and organisational capabilities. You will have a willingness to travel between offices (London and Sheffield) when necessary.
