To manage a portfolio of Private Client Services clients and to manage administrators within the Private Client Services department.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Management of the day to day tax administration of your client portfolio (predominantly Guernsey and/or UK tax compliance related), including the supervision of work undertaken by administrators 
• Provision of tax advisory services for: 

o Residence and domicile issues 
o Migration between jurisdictions 
o The benefits of wealth structuring through trusts and companies 
o General tax planning 
o Corporate residence issues 
o Guernsey Income Tax Office/HMRC enquiries 
o Other corporate tax issues, including those related to, for example, BEPS, Diverted Profits Tax, CFC legislation, Double Taxation treaties, etc 

o UK tax compliance, reporting and associated issues 
o HMRC enquiries 
o Restructuring in conjunction with a migration or following a change in domicile 

o Reporting fund UK tax compliance and ad hoc advice including shareholder reporting, structuring, etc 
• Provision of advice to (predominantly) Guernsey resident high net worth individuals, including: 
o Tax effective structuring of investment/business acquisitions 
o Disposing of UK assets/investments tax effectively 
o Structuring of UK employment/consultancy arrangements 
o Transfer of UK pension interests to approved Guernsey schemes 
o Utilization of Guernsey companies and trusts for effective wealth structuring, asset protection and tax planning (e.g. for inward investment into the UK) 
o Tax treatment of various types of investment and tax efficient investment strategies 
• Provision of advice upon the utilization of Guernsey by: 
o High net worth individuals wishing to emigrate from the UK 
o UK resident but non-domiciliaries 
o Local and international companies / corporate groups 


General/ Managerial responsibilities

o To manage, monitor and contribute to the delivery of key financial performance targets 
o To ensure that Guernsey and Intertrust anti-money laundering and terrorist financing regulations are complied with to the extent required by your role, especially in respect of the reporting of suspicious activity or transactions, client due diligence and record keeping 
o To provide honest feedback (both positive and negative) on performance in a constructive way to staff through the course of the year and, specifically during the Appraisal process 
o To encourage staff to develop themselves through providing adequate training and development and to give them opportunities to reach their full potential. To also provide full induction training required for new members of staff 
o To provide a strong communication ethos between manager and team member s and to encourage staff to communicate effectively themselves and with all members of the team 
o To maintain awareness of Group business strategy and to provide suitable opportunities for staff members to learn about where the Group is going and to understand the strategies for getting there 
o To maintain awareness of all Group staff policies and procedures, outlined in the Staff Handbook, and to demonstrate the professional standards expected at all times 
o Participate where possible in social events organized for staff and management.
