Your new company
Hays is delighted to be partnered with a highly reputable and established organisation in the Education sector to recruit for a new addition to their large Finance Department and, within this, their Treasury & Tax Team. As a crucial member, you will provide a high standard of financial advice and reporting as well as compliance support to internal and external stakeholder.

Your new role
You will be primarily responsible for supporting the Treasury & Tax Manager with all aspects of Treasury work, including preparing and reviewing the cash-flow forecasts (quarterly and annually), overseeing the Group's cash balances and managing the associated bank accounts. You will review the sales ledger, identifying and resolving any issues, and have responsibility for ensuring BACS payments are made accurately and on time. In order to complete these tasks, you will have support from and day to day management of a Senior Finance Assistant, training and developing them in line with the tasks outlined. You will also support your Manager with indirect tax returns and planning. Training will be provided in this regard, and will cover the preparation of EC Sales Lists, Intrastat returns and VAT calculations to be submitted to HMRC.

What you'll need to succeed
As the successful applicant, you will be a part-qualified Accountant or qualified by experience, with a proven track record of working within a busy Finance, Treasury or Tax Department for over 3 years. Specific experience of forecasting, Treasury and/or Indirect Tax will significantly enhance your application. Attention to detail and accuracy are paramount. You will also be able to work to your own initiative, organising and prioritising your workload to ensure deadlines are met. Examples of supervising or mentoring staff will be an advantage.

What you'll get in return
You will receive a generous salary and work in a collaborative and supportive environment, with second-to-none training. This role offers brilliant technical development and the opportunity to move within the business further down the line. The organisation also offer support towards relevant qualifications. The benefits package also includes a generous pension scheme and holidays (39 per annum).
