Senior Tax Associate, Leeds

£38,000 - £41,000 + pension + benefits

The Leeds office of this highly regarded Big 4 north west corporate tax advisory team is seeing significant market growth. The team works closely with local businesses and entrepreneurs to ensure that strategy, growth, export, exit readiness, tax planning and management incentives are all planned for carefully. 


M&A activity in the last 12 months has provided opportunities and promotions for the current team and as such there are currently two vacancies at Senior Tax Associate level.    These opportunities represent an excellent platform for recently qualified ACA/CTAs to advance their career.

Key responsibilities 

  • Responsible for day-to-day client liaison
  • Provide full tax services to a client portfolio together with other team members
  • Contribute to the efficient and successful delivery of tax services
  • Manage the successful delivery of tax projects, ensuring technical excellence
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and provide high levels of client service
  • Build relationships within the firm, identifying opportunities and managing expectations

Skills and attributes

  • Strong technical skills and keen to develop further
  • Ability to build strong client relationships
  • Relationship management skills with ability to manage client expectations
  • Excellent communicator in a range of situations both written and oral
  • Ability to identify areas of risk, carry out an effective review and know when to refer upwards
  • Client focused and commercially aware
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and pragmatically
  • Ability to coach and develop more junior members of the team

To qualify for the role you must be 

  • ACA/CA/ACCA/CTA with corporate tax experience
  • Experienced in tax accounting/tax audit
  • Able to read and interpret existing and new tax statute
  • Project management skills, ability to plan and prioritise work, meet deadlines and monitor own budget
  • Team player; ability to integrate with new teams quickly
  • Outgoing with good relationship skills and the ability to deliver quality output
