Global Japanese Bank is looking to recruit a Tax & Regulatory Accountant for its finance team, in the City.

Your new role

Sitting within the Risk Management & Control team that make up part of the finance function this is a crucial role within the team. The successful individual will be responsible for analysing and producing various reports in relation to Tax related regulations as well as BOE/FCA/PRA and HMRC Regulations to RM&C Managers.

Additionally the individual will take initiative to handle matters in relation to the above both internally and with external advisors. Furthermore the successful individual will be responsible for producing Corporation Tax Returns and Transfer Pricing documentation and to assist in the production of Accounting Reports and Regulatory Returns.

Principal elements of the job include:

Projects

  • To produce various analytical/briefing reports to RMC managers/the Management and take the lead in projects related to Tax Regulations with guidance from superiors.
  • To conduct periodical and ad-hoc reviews and update superiors with regard to BOE/PRA/FCA/HMRC guidance/definitions with guidance from superiors.
  • To lead Transfer Pricing projects to prepare TP documentation by communicating with external advisors as well as other departments including circulating Ringi.
  • To monitor new regulations/regulation updates (e.g. Tax) and report them to relevant departments and the Management if necessary.

Daily Operations

  • To prepare corporation tax returns, tax payments and tax provisions in accordance with relevant tax authorities.
  • To communicate with external advisors, e.g. Tax regulations, corporation tax etc and if necessary, provide written reports to managers.
  • To assist to produce regular accounting, regulatory, and tax reporting, including but not limited to following.
  • To manage outsourcing contract, primarily with regard to Tax regulations and corporation tax, in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.
  • To update the relevant Policies and Procedures.
  • To deal with Internal audit issues in relation to Corporation Tax.
  • To cover accounting team tasks in the absence of those incumbents (e.g. accounting, corporate tax, reconciliation and static data control business etc)

Planning

  • Preparation and implementation of new schemes/products in relation to new regulations/regulation changes with guidance from superiors.
  • Take the initiative to set various meetings internally and with external advisors.

Communication

  • To proof read various documents prepared by other members of staff.


What you'll need to succeed

It is likely that you will have worked in an accounting or consulting environment. Whilst accounting experience is sought after it would be very useful to have had good exposure to Transfer Pricing issues too.
