UK & European Tax Manager, FTSE100

This multinational FTSE100 giant holds a key position in several distinct industrial markets. With operations in every continent, it delivers luxury branded products and high value commodities to costumers all over the worldwide. 

The purpose of this role is to manage specific projects and ad hoc advisory in relation to the UK & European portfolio. You will also be overseeing tax compliance (outsourced to Big 4) and responsible for tax reporting requirements.  

Key responsibilities: 

Project work, Process and Technology 

  • Provide support to line manger on special projects, particularly within area of tax operations expertise 

  • Assist with the implementation of tax automation opportunities locally as well as supporting globally run tax technology projects that impact the UK & Europe region 

  • Assist with the continued development of the regional group’s compliance processes and reporting to ensure they continue to meet best practice, identifying opportunities to utilise technology and best practice processes. 


Governance, Risk and Controls 

  • Assist with the implementation of changes to process, controls and systems in relation to the UK & Europe region. 

  • Management of the region’s tax risks. 


Tax Compliance and Audits 

  • Management of the regional direct tax compliance obligations of the assigned portfolio. This also includes direct engagement with the group’s chosen compliance outsource provider 

  • Assist with the management of UK & Europe tax authority correspondence 

  • Coordinate the preparation and filing of any local transfer pricing obligations, in collaboration with the central transfer pricing team. 


Tax Reporting 

  • Implementation of improvement, simplification and automation opportunities relating to tax accounting and tax reporting processes 

  • Management of assigned portfolio of Business Units’ and Group's internal tax reporting requirements. 


About you: 

  • ACA/CTA qualified or equivalent  

  • Big 4 training preferred but not essential 

  • A good working knowledge of UK and European tax principles 

  • Able to discuss tax technical matters in plain language.
