Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for all areas of direct and indirect taxation. This includes overseeing the preparation and submission of Corporation Tax computations and Returns for all regions, and subsequently liaising with the Tax Authorities to obtain agreement for tax computations for all years.
  • Responsible for general tax matters for a number of countries and providing day-to-day tax support to them as well as maintaining tax technical awareness in relevant territories.
  • Understand the tax control framework and identify areas of potential weakness or opportunities for improvement through business partnering.
  • Identify and mitigate tax risks.
  • Managing the quarterly Tax payments in the UK as well as UK tax cashflow and tax accounting/balances.
  • Ensure appropriate knowledge is obtained and maintained around direct and indirect tax compliance obligations around the globe and monitor compliance with these obligations on a regular basis.
  • Provide innovative tax planning and review complex income tax returns.
  • Manage and coordinate tax audits.
  • The role involves any other corporate tax requirements which may arise. These may include transaction advice on business or property disposals or acquisitions, company restructuring, senior accounting officer certification and discrete planning projects among other responsibilities.
  • Coordinate the Transfer Pricing policy and be responsible for monitoring global requirements and changes in legislation, determining the policy to be adopted and reviewing the calculated recharges required on a quarterly basis.
  • Provide assistance to the Finance team in the identification, quantification, administration, and reporting of cross-border withholding taxes.
  • Assist in the preparation of overseas company statutory accounts (tax balances & disclosures); to design and then manage (in conjunction with Treasury) processes to ensure tax efficient cross-border cash movements into/out of and around the group.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven track record in corporate and international tax gained from working in a professional services or in house tax environment.
  • Hold a Professional tax or accounting qualification (or equivalent)
  • Proven working experience as tax manager
  • Excellent knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and all types of tax returns
  • Good at meeting deadlines and solving problems
  • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) with the ability to build good relationships
  • Ability to be flexible in a changing environment and work to strict deadlines
  • Excellent eye for detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to work hard as part of a growing team
  • Strong technical knowledge (UK Tax & IFRS essential)
  • Significant knowledge of cross-border income taxation laws
